Website Re-launch (May 2013)
My first project for GASTROFIX GmbH was the completely new structure and design of the company website gastrofix.com. I started on this in May 2013, even before I was officially hired. The old website was already very outdated at the time.
A responsive design was not explicitly requested by the management, but it was clear to me that due to the growing number of customers with mobile devices, responsive design was simply no longer an option. With the new website, GASTROFIX GmbH naturally wanted to present the new functions and the current design of the GASTROFIX iCash app in an appealing new way.
I built a modern, fully responsive website, largely in flat design, while retaining the Gastrofix-typical style features, such as the logo, the company colors and the company font. Bootstrap was used as the foundation, together with Google Fonts and icons from Font-Awesome, as well as a few jQuery plugins for certain effects. For this project, I had to brush up on my rusty PHP skills for the first time in years, although I didn't have to program anything new, just adapt existing code.
A German and an English version were built, as well as a separate version for Switzerland, the Netherlands and other countries. The translation into English was done by me. The UX was largely determined by the management and the marketing department, as were the images and other media. In some cases, I had to create new screenshots of the iCash app as well as various PDFs.
Development was slow, as the further progress of the GASTROFIX iCash app and the associated cloud website were usually more important and the company had limited developer resources at the time. So the relaunch proceeded piece by piece until late spring 2014.
Unfortunately i don't own any screenshots of tablet and mobile versions anymore.
Please note: All following screenshots are taken from click prototypes I designed for the project, filled with dummy data. These designs were not necessarily implemented exactly as they are shown here.
